The 5th Avenue Theatre Ends 2011/12 Season With a Balanced Budget

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced completing the 2011/12 season with a balanced budget. "On behalf of the Board of Directors of The 5th Avenue Theatre, we extend our thanks to our donors, our staff, our volunteers, our patrons, and our artists and crew," said Managing Director Bernadine C. Griffin. "This would not be possible without the contributions of each and every one of them. The success of any arts organization is a boon to our community, and The 5th Avenue is proud to continue to play a pivotal role in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest."

The largest arts employer in the Pacific Northwest, The 5th Avenue Theatre has a $24 million operating budget and provides 800 jobs to professional actors, stage crew, musicians, artisans, and administrative staff in each season. Nearly 400,000 patrons attended one of the 150 performances at the historic theater during the 2011/12 season, generating more than $20 million in earned revenue for the organization, and an additional $11 million for the Downtown Seattle economy.

As The 5th Avenue enters its 33rd season, it continues its commitment to bring the highest quality musical theater to Seattle, as well as to bring theater arts education to students of all ages throughout the state of Washington. The 5th Avenue Theatre's education and public outreach programs serve more than 60,000 students and adults annually.
