Stone Soup celebrates the XX chromosome for the second year in a row with work written and directed exclusively by women from the Seattle area and beyond! Performances will mainly take place at Stone Soup's DownStage theatre on Stone Way, with a few pre-festival readings (April 16-18) at Fremont/Wallingford establishments White Rabbit, Via Tribunali and Rogue and Peasant.

The first weekend will kick off the festival with a Night of Acts & Cabaret (Thursday, Apr 19), followed by a Night of Spoken Word (Friday, Apr 20). On Saturday (Apr 21) we will begin with a Night of Solo Performance followed by our popular, late-night 24-Hour All-Female Play Festival within a Festival! Afternoon writing and directing workshops (Sun, Apr 22) will be offered to round out the weekend, taught by Emily Conbere and Kristina Sutherland (Macha Monkey).

The last two weeks will showcase evenings of 9 short plays each positing answers to the following questions: How do cats view the world? In which ways will GPS devices be used for matchmaking in the near future? What happens when God decides to possess the body of a homeless junkie?
