Taproot Theatre Company announces the lineup for its 38th season that promises audiences laughter, delight, wit, intellect and downright entertainment. Featuring premieres and classics, there is something for everybody. Taproot Theatre Company's 2014 Season runs from January through October. Resubscriptions are currently being accepted. The season will be open to new subscribers in October 2013.

Taproot Theatre's 2014 Season opens with Mr. Pim Passes By. This recently rediscovered 1919 comedy by A.A. Milne is packed with delightfully droll humor. When the lovely Mr. Pim stops in for a visit one offhand remark turns this conventional English household upside down.

Next comes In the Book Of, a regional premiere that faces the powerful political and personal impact of immigration straight on. Lieutenant Naomi Watkins returns stateside and opens her home to faithful friend and Afghan translator, Anisah. When Anisah's visa is called into question the whole town goes to war over this suspicious stranger. But as fireflies light up the night, romance launches a stealth attack showing us that anything can happen.

In the spring, Taproot Theatre revives a clever, romantic and comic gem from 1908 that remains surprisingly fresh and relevant today. Before Eliza Dolittle there was Diana of Dobson's. She's young, underpaid and overworked and seems to have no chance at success until she unexpectedly receives a small inheritance and vows to "know what it's like to have a royal time."

Summer brings a musical based on the literary classic, Jane Eyre. Charlotte Bronte's great love story comes to life with music to lift your heart and set your spirit soaring. This beloved tale of secrets and the lies that secrets create, of unimaginable hope and unspoken passion, reminds us what it is to fall deeply, truly and completely in love.

Taproot Theatre wraps up its 2014 season in the fall with The Fabulous Lipitones, a contemporary musical about a barbershop quartet that is suddenly a member short scrambling to find a tenor before the national competition. When an East Indian Sikh becomes their fourth member, uproarious comedy ensues with misunderstanding, stereotypes and the path to perfect harmony.
