Cornish College of the Arts Announces SUMMER AT CORNISH 2012

ART + DESIGN

"Summer at Cornish’s Art + Design program offers opportunities for students to manipulate new materials, acquire new techniques, and meet other students who share an interest in art and design. Cornish has two options this year: a three-week pre-college program that combines Foundations in Art + Design with individual studio courses that meet twice a week, or one-week intensives that meet all day for one week. Course offerings include Painting and Drawing, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Photography, Illustration, and much more. Both options offer students age 15–18 fabulous opportunities to explore the visual arts in a professional art school setting."

DANCE

"Cornish College of the Arts offers a comprehensive Dance experience. Classes are offered at various skill levels, from beginners to professional dancers, for children age four through adults.  Summer at Cornish’s Dance program is open to the community and embraces diversity. Classes include classical ballet, pointe, modern, composition, musical theater, jazz, improvisation, Pilates and Spanish dance. The daily format offers intense summer training for dancers who want to gain strength, improve technique and acquire knowledge of a new discipline. All dance classes will be held at our historic Kerry Hall campus (http://www.cornish.edu/summer/dance/locations/#kerry) on Capitol Hill."


MUSIC

"Cornish College of the Arts offers a Summer Music program that affords students age 12- 19 the opportunity to study with the renowned Cornish music faculty and special guest artists in a series of week–long intensive workshops designed especially for the aspiring young musician. Enrollment in some workshops is limited. All music classes will be conducted at our historic Kerry Hall campus (http://www.cornish.edu/summer/music/locations/#kerry-hall) on Capitol Hill."

THEATER

"Summer at Cornish’s Theater program offers opportunities for students to hone their skills, learn new techniques, and meet other students who share an interest in theater. Cornish has two options this year: a three-week pre-college program that combines Foundations in Theater with individual courses that meet twice a week, or one-week intensives that meet all day for one week. Course offerings include Musical Theater, Improvisation, Stage Makeup, Writing and Directing, Comedy, and much more. Both options offer students age 15–18 fabulous opportunities to explore the performing arts in a professional art school setting."
