Book-it Rep Theatre Hosts TRICKSTER TALES 9/26 During Target Family Fun Series

Book-It Repertory Theatre presents Trickster Tales (based on Gerald McDermott's popular children's books) on September 26 as the first of 2009-10's Target Family Fun Series in theCenter House Theatre. Each Family Fun Day includes an all-ages book fair and performance with crafts andworkshops relating to each show.

Tickets to all three shows in the series are FREE to the public.For 12 years, Book-It All Over - the education arm of Book-It Repertory Theatre - has been touringadaptations of great children's literature in the Book-It Style^TM exclusively to libraries, community centers, and schoolsall over the Pacific Northwest.

By popular demand, BIAO has opened these exclusive touring shows to the generalpublic. Target has given its support to make these performances available to all with FREE tickets.The Target Family Fun Day is an entertaining, interactive and engaging morning for the whole family. Doorsopen at 10:30 a.m. for crafts and book fair, performances begin at 11:00 and run 25-35 minutes, and are followed by workshops. The event is held in the Center House Theatre at Seattle Center.

Trickster Tales blends the stories of Raven, Coyote, and Jabuti the Tortoise-three tricksters from GeraldMcDermott's award-winning folk tales. These mischievous characters bestow gifts and get into trouble as they explorethe earth and the heavens. Recommended for grades K-6. Also in this series: Catch the Moon by Crystal Hubbard on February 20, and Johnny Appleseed, retold by Steven Kellogg, performed June 12.

Book-It Education Director Annie Lareau is directing and adapting Trickster Tales. She has previously adaptedmany BIAO shows, Special Editions projects, and main stage shows (My Ántonia) for the company.
